Peter Andre brands publicity stunt rumours as 'sick'

Speaking about the separation which was announced last week, the Australian singer said it had been a "devastating week for me, to say the least".

Andre said: "I don't really want to go into any detail as it's all so raw and I'm completely crushed.

"I would, however, like to take this opportunity to set the record straight about one thing. You may have read or heard that this is a publicity stunt, but I can assure you it's not.

"How anyone could think I would pretend to split up from my wife to grab headlines is beyond me. It's just sick."

He said that "everything is up in the air at the moment," and thanked fans for their messages of support.

Andre also said he was missing his children Junior and Princess, who are being cared for by Price, "like mad".

Andre has also been raising Harvey, Price's son from a previous relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke, over their three and-a-half years of marriage.

The singer said he had "desperately" wanted to take Harvey with him to his Cyprus bolthole, but Price's mother was looking after him as he was not allowed to take time off from school.

He said: "I miss all the kids so much."

Asked if a song on his new album called Call Me A Doctor was about his relationship split, Andre said: "All I can say is that the album is deeply personal to me... It's the album I've always wanted to make, but I was never able to before."

I used to think Katie price was a really down to earth nice person until i started following her & Pete's show.She was either always complaining about something,or was in a mood. Hi pete I to went through a very painful seperation even though it was me who ended the relationship after 10 years. It makes me laugh how people portray Pete. He knew Katie had a son, BEFORE getting into a relationship with her, HE KNEW she was and is HIGH MAINTANCE. I do think that Katie and Peter had something special but I think Katie went too far with some of the things she said to him in public. He is a lovely gentle guy and genuinely loved the children. His devotion to Harvey was very special. Maybe there will be a reconciliation, but sometimes things that are said in anger are so painful that they do permanent damage. I feel sorry for both of these individuals and, especially, the children. I know the couple were very much in the limelight, and we were shown almost every aspect of the life, however, I was still in shock when the announcement was made. I don't believe the "publicity stunt" rubbish that is being printed and think it's the low life tabloids that are taking the lead here. However, I still have hopes that they will get back together again, make a fresh start, and live a good life together. And that statement is not a "for the sake of the children" thing as it wouldn't work if that is the sole reason. It is a two way street and they both have to walk down the same side and at the same pace.

I think that they both need to take a break from filming any more reality tv and concentrate on just being a family. Having cameras follow you everywhere you go cant be healthy for any relationship. Am I the only person who disagrees with all of you? I think Katie and Peter are great together and really seemed in love. What I do find strange though, is that as soon as Peter finished recording his album, he dumps Katie! Did he just use her to get to the states and make this album? Katie Price has only ever been a fake pair of boobs, and now with her aging body, face and black hair that makes her look like the witch that she is, no one in the USA is vaguely interested or impressed by her. Therefore, she is totally jealous of the fact that Peter is trying to do something positive with his life and is making an effort to re-establish himself as an artist. I am not surprised he left her. Her behaviour is really unbelievable at times. I don’t understand what she is thinking degrading him so much in front of cameras. Sometimes she comments publicly on his clothes than on what he eats ... Is she well in her head? Their life was made so public, they can't even cover their argumnets. But, was all the cash from it worth it?

The problem is two large egos together is difficult BUT Katie should not have said what she did on TV about being the one who earns the most money.That was very degrading to Peter and I was not surprised he left after that. For 37 years I have stayed with my husband and there were many times I was ready to pack my bags but we've calmed down now and realised that life is too short to argue. There has to be a lot of give and take

dont want to sound bad, but they were to failing stars on celebrity jungle,as with a lot of others,met didnt really know each other that well and married for all the wrong reasons,kate is just like so many celebs once they make there money they change into that monster ,believe me they really couldnt give a ----about anyone only themselves, sad but there no differrent than the other jumped up people of this sad world

I am sorry ... this whole thing is a farce. They didnt get the publicity from their current series that they got with their earlier shows (which were rubbish to say the least), they sold their stories and lives to the media, got paid copious amounts of cash in doing so and when things looked rough their publicist probably told them go and get a 'divorce' or 'separate' and in a weeks or 2 weeks time get back together. This would mean that they get their mins of fame back all the while making it look like their are grieving. The only people in this I completely pity are their kids. They didnt ask to be put into the limelight that both these people crave and I am sorry to say that they will grow up knowing nothing better and would be as bad or worst then their parents. Just look at 90% of children of famous peopole (Lily Allen, Peaches Geldoff & Paris Hilton).

This report is awful where it is written that the children are being cared for by Price. Dont they know Katies name. I hope Katie and Peter can work there differences out and get back together, i think they make a lovely couple.
